5. Backend Systems and Data Processing

Our mobile and web applications may use backend servers and APIs to provide core functionality.

Backend systems may be used for:

  • Authentication and session management
  • Account management
  • Data synchronization
  • AI processing
  • API requests
  • Service delivery
  • Performance optimization
  • Security monitoring
  • Abuse prevention
  • Technical diagnostics

Depending on the functionality being used, information may need to be transmitted from your device to our backend systems.

Information transmitted between your device and our servers may be protected using industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit.

Application-Specific Processing

Where an application uses a backend only as an intermediary to communicate with a third-party service, certain user-submitted information may pass through the backend without being permanently stored.

The specific processing practices for applications that handle sensitive information are described in their applicable application-specific sections.

6. Artificial Intelligence

Some Services use artificial intelligence technologies to provide features such as:

  • Content generation
  • Image analysis
  • Wellness analysis
  • Recommendations
  • Personalized responses
  • Other automated analysis

When you use an AI-powered feature:

  • Information you submit may be transmitted to our backend systems.
  • Information may be transmitted to third-party AI service providers.
  • The information may be processed to generate the requested output.
  • AI providers may process information according to their applicable privacy policies and contractual arrangements.
  • We do not use your personal information to train AI models unless explicitly stated for the applicable Service and, where required, with your consent.
  • We do not sell AI inputs for advertising purposes.

Application-specific AI processing practices are described below.

6.1 AI Health Scan — Facial Images and Wellness Data

AI Health Scan is a wellness and educational application that uses computer vision and artificial intelligence to analyze visible wellness indicators from photographs provided by the user.

The application is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, or monitor any disease or medical condition.

Results are provided for informational and general wellness purposes only.

Information Collected

When a user performs an AI Health Scan, the application may process:

  • A front-facing facial photograph
  • A side-profile facial photograph
  • Age
  • Gender
  • Name, where voluntarily provided

The user’s name is stored on the user’s device and is not transmitted to the AI service for analysis.

The facial photographs, age, and gender are used to generate the requested visual wellness analysis.

Camera

The application requests camera access because the camera is required to capture the photographs used for the guided wellness scan.

The application does not access the camera for unrelated purposes.

Purpose of Facial Image Processing

Facial photographs are processed solely to:

  • Perform the requested AI Health Scan
  • Analyze visible wellness indicators
  • Generate the requested wellness analysis
  • Generate a personalized wellness report for the user

The facial photographs are not used by us for advertising, behavioral profiling, or unrelated purposes.

Transmission to Our Backend

When a user performs a scan, the photographs, age, and gender are transmitted from the user’s device to our backend solely to facilitate the AI analysis.

Our backend forwards the relevant information to the AI service described below.

Our backend does not intentionally store or retain the submitted facial photographs after the analysis request has been processed.

Google Gemini AI Processing

The AI Health Scan uses Google’s Gemini Developer API to perform the requested image analysis.

The processing flow is:

User’s device → Our backend → Google Gemini API → Analysis → Our backend → User’s device

The facial photographs, age, and gender are transmitted to Google’s Gemini API for the sole purpose of generating the requested wellness analysis.

The user’s name is not transmitted to Google Gemini.

We use Google’s paid Gemini API services. According to Google’s applicable Paid Services terms, content submitted through the paid service is not used to improve Google’s products. Google may nevertheless process or retain API content for purposes described in its applicable terms, including security, abuse monitoring, and legal or regulatory requirements.

Users should review Google’s applicable privacy and data-processing documentation for information regarding Google’s processing of API data.

Facial Image Storage

Our application does not maintain long-term storage of the original facial photographs on our backend servers.

The original photographs remain on the user’s device unless the user chooses to delete them or otherwise removes them through the applicable device or application functionality.

The photographs may be temporarily transmitted through our backend and to Google Gemini as necessary to perform the requested analysis.

Facial Image Retention

Our application does not intentionally retain the original facial photographs after the AI analysis request has been processed.

Any retention or processing that may occur within Google’s Gemini infrastructure is governed by Google’s applicable Gemini API terms, policies, and technical configuration.

Google’s treatment of API content, including applicable retention for security or abuse monitoring purposes, is subject to Google’s current policies.

Facial Image Deletion

Because our application does not maintain long-term server-side copies of the original facial photographs, the application does not maintain a separate server-side facial-image database requiring routine deletion.

Users may remove photographs stored on their device using the device or application functionality available to them.

Where an account is supported, users may also initiate account deletion as described in the applicable account-deletion functionality and Section 18 of this Privacy Policy.

Sharing of Facial Images

Facial photographs are transmitted to Google Gemini solely for the requested AI Health Scan.

We do not sell facial photographs.

We do not share facial photographs with:

  • Advertisers
  • Data brokers
  • Marketing companies
  • Social media platforms for advertising
  • Unrelated third parties

Google receives the facial photographs because it provides the AI processing service required to perform the requested analysis.

AI Health Scan Limitations

AI Health Scan provides general wellness and educational information.

It does not:

  • Diagnose disease
  • Treat disease
  • Cure disease
  • Prevent disease
  • Monitor a medical condition
  • Provide emergency medical advice
  • Replace professional medical advice
  • Provide a medical diagnosis
  • Provide treatment recommendations

Users should consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional regarding health concerns.

6.2 Other AI-Powered Features

Other applications may use AI providers for different purposes.

Depending on the application:

  • Text
  • Images
  • Audio
  • Documents
  • Other user-provided content

may be transmitted to an AI service provider to generate the requested output.

The applicable application-specific disclosure will govern the particular data processed by that feature.

7. Audio Data

Certain applications may allow users to record or upload audio.

Depending on the specific feature, audio may be:

  • Recorded directly within the application
  • Uploaded by the user
  • Stored locally on the user’s device
  • Temporarily transmitted to our servers
  • Processed by third-party AI or audio-processing providers

Where an application states that audio is stored locally on your device, that audio remains on your device unless you voluntarily export, share, or otherwise transmit it.

We do not use personal audio for advertising purposes.

8. Health and Wellness Information

Some applications may provide functionality relating to:

  • Wellness
  • Fitness
  • Appearance
  • Sleep
  • Relaxation
  • Focus
  • Meditation
  • Other general health and wellness topics

Unless expressly stated otherwise, these features are intended for general informational and wellness purposes and are not intended to provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or clinical advice.

Where an application processes health-related or sensitive information, the application-specific section will describe the applicable processing.

You should not rely on our Services as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

  • Facial photographs
  • Age
  • Gender

The user’s name is not transmitted to Gemini.
